Projected Light
Projected light installations examining spatial drawing, and fragmented points of light. Many of these pieces later developed into works incorporating holography, which combine luminous surfaces, points, lines, and planes.
Three – Nine – 35mm
Three – Nine – 35mm transforms 35mm slides into self-contained, illuminated objects. The installation explores light as both material and agent, creating an unintentional durational work within the gallery space.
Three – Nine
Installed as part of the Alternative Document exhibition at Project Space Plus, Lincoln, Three – Nine combines three 35mm projectors and a digital hologram to explore drawn and spatial perception
Three Projected Levels
A three-projector installation created during the 2015 Summer Lodge residency, exploring spatial perception through overlapping 35mm slide projections.
Coherent Points Cubed
An experimental light installation exploring the movement of coherent laser points within a defined cubic space.
Corner Edit
Projected installation made specifically for Pepper’s solo show in New York at the Museum of Holography.
Random Cube Rotation
Projected light installation in which a rotating structure reflects and intercepts lines of light to generate a moving cube of luminous points.
Primary Planes
Light from a 35 mm slide projector is intercepted by a slowly rotating structure of translucent screens, which animate (and add colour to) points of white light.
Steam Beams
Light from two projectors is shaped by a column of steam, creating a three-dimensional screen on which lines of light can be seen and interacted with.
Curved Cube
An early light-based installation in which a projected cube drawing is reformed within a curved, rotating screen of string to create a three-dimensional luminous image.
Pentrojection
Light from an animated film is projected across the gallery space and intercepted by an enclosed chamber of smoke, producing a three-dimensional, volumetric drawing.
Column Projection
Studio experiments with multiple projection screens to manipulate projected light.
Light Field
Multi-screen spatial projection producing a three-dimensional luminous field of light suspended within the studio space.
