Kinetic Art: Three-Dimensional Luminous Images Projected into Volumes of Smoke (Pentrojection). Leonardo Journal, Pergamon Press, UK.
Pepper published his first paper in 1979, while still a student undertaking a Master of Fine Art degree at the University of Reading, UK.
It was his first opportunity to report internationally on his studio activities using light as a tool for drawing, sculpture, and installation.
He subsequently contributed several other papers to the Leonardo Journal (later published by MIT Press, USA), which continues to offer a platform for artists to examine, discuss, and place critical pressure on their work across areas of art and technology.
For several years, he has acted as a Leonardo peer reviewer, specialising in texts focused on creative holography and light-based media.
