The left and right columns display shadows of hand-drawn gestural marks which are located in front of the holographic plate, between the viewer and the picture plane.
The work hangs a few centimetres proud of the gallery wall.
The central ‘drawn’ column is an area where the holographic emulsion has been scratched away. Light used to illuminate the hologram passes through this ‘gap’ and onto the wall behind, producing a luminous white drawing on the wall.
