Whitstable Biennale

Lean Two, digital hologram and projected light installation.

The flat hologram containing a series of rectangular holes is located between the floor and wall of the gallery space and illuminated by a framed theatrical spotlight.

A black rectangle, equivalent in size to the rectangular spaces in the hologram, is placed on the gallery wall, at eye height, in a location where a viewer might expect to see more traditional, framed artworks.

Analogue Ensemble: Extending the Frame, Whitstable Biennale 2018, features installations of experimental artists’ film, video and 3D light, including a new work by Andrew Pepper.

Lean Two has been made specifically for the show, developed from an earlier examination of placement, framing and the peripheral view.
