Lecturing
Andrew Pepper spent over 25 years as a visiting lecturer in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, moving to positions as a full-time senior lecturer and Head of First Year Fine Art, including a period as interim course leader.
He worked with an exceptional group of practising artists to guide the delivery of first-year fine art and maintained a particular interest in the challenges encountered by new students starting their academic journey in fine art. He was selected to be trained as an advanced personal tutor to develop pastoral skills and was an admissions tutor for international and non-standard applications.
He taught fine art, as a visitor, for several years at the University of Lincoln and has contributed to professional development modules in Fine Art at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University’s Hive Start To, and Summer School courses.
He delivered lectures on the subject of creative holography to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the UK, Germany, Norway, and the USA.
These presentations were delivered as part of courses including: Fine Art, Contemporary Arts, Photography, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Interactive Art, History of Art, Graphics, Foundation Studies, Glass, Optics, Architecture, Holography, Media Art, Media Design, and Film & TV.
He has also developed and delivered a number of specific workshops on The Unsupported Mark, Spatial Mark-Making, and ThereNess, the results of which have been presented in International conferences and publications.
He retired from full-time university teaching in summer 2022 and maintains a studio in Nottingham, UK.
