Arts Council England Selection

Arts Council England has commissioned Axis to curate an exhibition on the first floor of its national office at Great Peter Street in London. Arts Council England staff chose the nine works which were installed in July 2010.

Axis wanted to reflect the diversity of work being produced around the country and selected 9 artists from their arts directory from which they set up an online vote.

Arts Council staff were asked to curate the exhibition by selecting artworks from each of the nine English regions. The selected work is now installed, for the next 18 months, at the Council's Great Peter Street London headquarters.

The piece selected by Axis and the Arts Council staff, from Andrew Pepper, is Cut Column which is based on an earlier holographic monoprint, “Centre Column” produced in 1989 and now held in the Lauk Collection, Germany.
