Based on the animated drawing Holographic Space: A Generalised Graphic Definition – Reapproached, this variation introduces shadows cast by the graphic line construction, falling onto an implied surface beneath it.

These are apparent shadows cast by an apparent drawing: a graphic construction that exists only as a set of instructions in web-based code, generating the image each time you, as the observer, visit this page.

We instinctively interpret these virtual shadows through our perceptual and logical understanding of how physical objects cast shadows. Yet a mismatch emerges between what we see and what we expect. As the drawing rotates and shifts position within digital space, the relationship between the line construction, its shadow and the implied surface becomes unstable, challenging our assumptions about the relationship between object, drawing and shadow.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_icon font_icon=”p||divi||400″ icon_color=”#0C71C3″ align=”left” _builder_version=”4.27.9″ _module_preset=”default” transform_scale=”40%|40%” animation_style=”fade” animation_direction=”right” global_module=”25831″ saved_tabs=”all” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_icon][et_pb_text admin_label=”Catalogue” _builder_version=”4.27.9″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″]

Title:Reapproached Shadow

Date: 2026

Dimensions: Variable, Screen-based

Materials: Web HTML code

Edition: Unlimited

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_code _builder_version=”4.27.9″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ box_shadow_style=”preset2″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″]

[/et_pb_code][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Exploring the relationship between drawn lines and their displaced shadow.
