Holography as Thesis<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first PhD in Fine Art awarded by the University of Reading, UK, is considered an early example of an artist practice-based research submission, using creative holography to demonstrate a \u201csignificant contribution to knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Examples of work using holography were submitted as the \u2018thesis\u2019, contained in a bound \u2018file box\u2019 with a spotlight to view the works, and supported by a text outlining the development of the research and the critical exploration of drawing in space.<\/p>\n

A complete version of the submission was acquired by the Rosemary Jackson Collection, USA, and then bequeathed to the MIT Museum, Cambridge, USA, in June 2025.<\/p>\n
