A gallery-based intervention.<\/p>\n
Over the course of one month, artists were invited to spend time in the Bonington Gallery creating lines, marks and tones that explore and respond to the space through a variety of drawing processes.<\/p>\n
The exhibition celebrates the expanded field of contemporary drawing and includes works on paper, performance, moving image, installation, projections and three-dimensional drawing.<\/p>\n
Vantage points were made available throughout the gallery to encourage visitors to witness and engage with the work as it continuously unfolded and took form.<\/p>\n
The artists welcomed responses from the public and designated specific discussion events where visitors were invited to meet the artists and pose questions about the work taking place.<\/p>\n
Each artist in residence left their responses to the space in the space, and subsequent artists built on and around those interventions.<\/p>\n

[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]<\/p>\n Artists included<\/strong>:\u00a0humhyphenhum<\/a>,\u00a0Lorraine Young<\/a>,\u00a0Catherine Bertola,\u00a0Joe Graham,\u00a0Andrew Pepper<\/a>,\u00a0Martin Lewis<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0John Court<\/a>.<\/p>\n The\u00a0month started with humhyphenhum (Deborah Harty & Phil Sawdon), who were\u00a0the first to enter the white space; drawing with paper and moving image to create a three-dimensional drawing that traces in, on and through the surface of the empty white space.<\/p>\n Lorraine Young and Catherine Bertola followed, spending two days and three days respectively on the developing drawing.
